Sunday and Monday

Sunday was another good day. We woke up late (8:00am). I hopped out of bed and found something for us to have for breakfast. Then we got whatever baths administeredt that needed it, I started dinner and got dressed. After loading everything up for the day, we headed to church a few minutes earlier than normal. Each light was green and each four way stop was clear. We had smooth sailing all morning! Wow! We were the first ones in the church parking lot. We were joking that this time we were so late that everyone had already left. Ha!

For dinner I had crockpot cubed steak and gravy, garlic mashed potatoes and collard greens. We had some Debbie Cakes for dessert.

After dinner we went to Goodwill and Walmart for shoes. Between the two we found enough to shod six of the children. Now, that's a job! :D

Both church services were very nice. We had another sermon on prayer in the morning and I think the Lord is working in a lot of our hearts on prayer. I was able to take notes in the morning service. It is nice for the littlest to get older and sit a little better for me to take notes.

After the evening service we had a monthly social after church. I made hot dogs, had chips and cookies. Isn't that grandly healthy? Ha! The fellowship with the others was very sweet.

When it was time to come home, we all were exhausted. My feet were cramping from wearing heels all day. James rubbed out the cramps as I went to sleep. :D

Monday began with a dentist appointment at 8:30. He had two teeth pulled in preparating for braces this coming Monday. He felt well enough to stop at one of our local thrift stores and so we did.

Afterwards, we had lunch, did a small bit of cleaning and rested a bit. Gloria was being a pistol today and needed addition directing for bad behaviour. She is very hard headed.

Then I made soup and when James got home, Brittany and I headed to the ladies' meeting at church. We had sweet fellowship and then came home.

A lady from church gave us some irises and cana lilies for the yard. It looks like I'll be busy tomorrow with that. :D I am excited for this.

Wow, what a day!

It sounds like a nice few days. I have learned a lot about prayer since Josh left for college 2 1/2 years ago. I still have a lot to learn.

That is a job to find shoes for kids. We had some nice sunshine yesterday and we enjoyed it. It is snowing now and sticking to the ground. Nice first day of spring for us.

Have a wonderful day with your family.

Cheryl, I enjoyed your pics of the first day of spring! I can imagine your child being away can be cause for much prayer. Thank God for praying mothers! :D

Donna, I hope I will! We had the lilies before we added on to the house. I would have moved them but everything happened so fast when the word "go" was said to do the addition. Hubby was picking when I asked where to plant them. He said "the trash can". He loves me enough to let me keep them though. LOL

Susan,
We are the same way....hate to turn it on, but like the house to be comfortable.

You are right...when it warm, it's warm.

Love ya too,
Cathy
