First Day of School 08'/09'

Well, despite many obstacles including Samuel temporarily losing an eyeglass lens we have begun our first day of school! We are on lunch break right now. I have Brittany beginning spaghetti. I think I'll make some garlic bread to go with as well....sure would like a big salad too but oh well.

Our first morning session of school went pretty well. I began Bethany and Jesse on phonics. Jesse thinks reading is to just happen. I am hoping they catch on quickly so that he can get to sounding out some words. He's the most impatient learner I've had yet. Dalton and Brittany are into Algebra right now and I have Samuel in review. Brittany's biology was way too easy this morning but I think that US History caught her as being surprisingly time consuming. I guess it's good to have a good balance. Speaking of balance.... doing school with a toddler and one on the way as well as keeping up with chores, cooking meals, etc. is an art that I am still trying to learn!

So as far as meals today we had cheese grits and eggs for breakfast and are going to have spaghetti for lunch. For supper I am planning on some baked beans(bacon and hamburger within) along with rice and gravy. Today I need to bake some bread and make ahead some biscuits for in the morning. Whew! Work, work, work!

We are in hopes of the appraiser coming sometime this week. I need to try and work with getting our master bedroom and bath in order. The bedroom is the hardest as it's still a catch-all until we are fully moved over to the new side. So that's my main chore.

Okay, enough boring details for now. I need to go help with that lunch and get us down for some quiet time. Then it's time for that afternoon session of school!

Have a wonderful day.

Susan, I know you're still getting the hang of everything, but do you think you could share your "goal" school day schedule? I have an almost 8yo, a 6yo, a 3yo, and a blessing due in December. This is my first year HSing both the older kids and I really just don't know how to do it and get anything else done. Thanks and blessings, sara
