Christmas Break!

Beginning this week we have began our Christmas break! I think that we all have really enjoyed ourselves. I have especially enjoyed getting caught up on some housework. With the school break, I thought this would be a great time to implement chore charts. Wow, what a difference this makes! The children put a sticker on the chart for the chore completed on the corresponding day. This is not only for school activities but also for devotions, prayer and teeth brushing as well. I may add character issues as well so they can add stickers to Godly traits such as kindness, etc. That is, once they've got the hang of their current list. It looks as if this chart will last us through January 20th. So that's five weeks. Then I'll need to make more charts. I might switch some children's chores to help them learn more life skills.

We are thinking of adding up all the stickers and paying a few cents per sticker. This does add up to a reasonable amount, especially for something they are suppose to do anyway. :D We are hoping that this will reinforce good habits, not only with chores but with having a heart for the Lord and personal hygeine.

We are gearing up for Christmas! I believe that we have gotten most of the children's things and so just have to buy for a few more family members. Oh and then there's all of that wrapping. We are gonna needs lots of tape. This year we are even doing stockings stuffers. Can you believe that we haven't ever before? Brittany and I need to work on getting names on our stockings today.

Other than all this, our plans are to make cookies and more missionary prayer cards. Pray for all of our missionaries, especially during the holidays, who sacrifice to spread the gospel for the love and glory of Christ.

Our little Gloria is expanding her vocabulary wonderfully. Just in the past few days she has said, "uh-oh", "Bit-ney"(Brittany), "dat oon"(that one). It's fun seeing the children grow and learn.

Okay, I must go and get hopping on my chores! Have a wonderful day in the Lord!
