Moodiness

Lately upon pondering on why some people are so completely moody, this is what my conclusion is;
Moodiness is disbelief in you deserving certain misfortunes. Moodiness is thinking that you're too good for anything bad to happen to. You see, when things are great, then that's when Mr./Mrs. Moody is happy. When things go bad, Mr./Mrs. Moody whines and wants the world to whine with them. It is then their ticket to be a grouch. In truth, this is a form of being unthankful for what they have been blessed with...what GOD has blessed them with. Indeed, being moody is a form of arrogance.

Now, don't you think that any such drastic moodiness is in our house. Yes, we all have a touch of moodiness periodically (who's perfect??? Raise your hand if you are!!!), but I tell you, some outsiders take it to the extreme! I am talking of the ones who practically live this as a lifestyle!

So, if you know the Lord...I mean REALLY know Him, how could YOU be "Mr./ Mrs. Moody USA"? Do you not think God knows what He's doing? Is He not righteous no matter what? Since when were you the next perfect person on this earth that everything should run smoothly for? Hold your head up, read your Bible, sing praises to the King and really think on what He's done for you. Can you still walk around all blah?
I think not! Obviously some need a lesson in this business....although it seems it would come as the Holy Ghost hit them. Hmmm.... and don't think it was a female that inspired this post as it was not. This is not a hormonal issue or an issue of someone going through a terrible event such as a death...just as someone is...oh 75% of the time.

So what should we non-moody people to help the moody clan? Well, I know a verse that is fresh in my mind. It was our theme verse for VBS this past week. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Maybe once you stumble upon a moody person, you could ask them, "Isn't God good?" and smile a wide toothed grin. Either they will think you're a nuisance or they'll think about it. Maybe they'll share their struggles and you'll know how to pray. No matter how irritating moody people are (oops...see...it's catchy! So watch out!), they do need prayer! If the prayers of the church can send an angel to help Peter escape prison (Acts 12) then it seems prayer could certainly "fix" a moody person. Most likely, they need Jesus. If they have Jesus, then they are not close to Him.

So, smile and pray. Be of good encouragement toward those in need, even if you do want to bat them over the head and slap the whininess off their face. Don't do that!!! No-no! Remember, let your LIGHT so shine...be NICE even when they're not. Be of good example. :D

Blessings to you and yours.
