It's SPRING! (Tuesday)

think,thinking, thinking...

We had a slow morning today. I made a late breakfast, washed a load of clothes and hung them out. I worked with some of the children on grammar and penmanship.

Lunch was leftover chicken and rice soup and hamburgers. While I cooked the burgers, I went ahead and got the taco meat ready for tonight's supper. I watered the flowers outside and studied on where would be best to put these lilies and irises. I still don't know yet...

At lunch, I noticed that Gloria was warm and so I gave her some ibuprofin. She has no other symptoms except for a fever.

While eating lunch, we watched some old home videos. Nothing gives me baby fever more than seeing our children on those videos! Oh, if I could live through these years, over and over! I wanted to reach through the screen and home them again...

After lunch was ate, I lied down with Gloria long enough to get her to drift off to sleep. I eased up and noticed that the five year old decided to nap too. While it was quiet and I could have a little time to relax, I watched a show of animal hoarders on Netflix.

We worked on math and reading in the afternoon. I went over Algebra with Dalton and he's catching on! Perhaps this will be easier here on out.

James got home at about 5:30. I vacuumed and mopped the kitchen floor. Then we all headed out to plant the garden. Everyone had their hand in it this time. Usually we plant in just plain dirt. This time we added some mushroom compost to the rows. We'll see what a difference this makes this year and to know whether to try it again or not. Wow, we've got a lot packed in there! I am hoping we have a bumper crop and will be extra busy this summer. With no school going on except for five year old, this gardening and preserving takes its place. You know, everything always has to be packed with activities at all times! LOL

We had a simple supper of tacos and quesdadillas (made by Brittany). Afterwards we had baths and teeth to brush and a little screen time. I gave Gloria another dose of ibuprofin and had her in bed with James in I so I could keep watch over her at night.
Now time for some zzzzzz.

Glad you were able to plant. I hope Gloria is feeling better!! I don't know if I could last a whole episode of animal hoarders>.

I was just wondering what curriculum you use, especially for math. We are getting into algebra and geometry and I need a curriculum that is VERY teacher friendly. I want something that not only gives me the answers but also shows me how to work it. I hope Gloria is feeling okay now. Enjoy your day and God bless.

April, Did y'all get your garden tilled? I hope so! I am hoping our planting so early won't backfire! Animal hoarders isn't any worse than the other hoarders show.
Love,
Susan
