Day in the LIfe Of...

5:40 am I woke up pretty excited and ready to go this morning in anticipation of weigh in. I should have stayed in bed. :D I lost 1.8 pounds. Really, that's quite ridiculous. I just hope there's a hidden reason for such a small loss on the first of really trying harder!

I came into the kitchen right away and began making biscuits. Before I started the bacon, I brewed some coffee. After the bacon, biscuits and coffee are done I have some breakfast and check the computer. I have one and a half  biscuits and two pieces of bacon.

I make James two sandwiches for work and pack a to-go breakfast. We give each other hugs and kisses and  he heads off to work at 6:45. I sure hope he slept well as I don't know how he does it sometimes. I have the luxury as a housewife to take a mid-day nap, on most days.

I observe the mess in the kitchen and load the dishwasher. As I put in the dishwasher detergent, I notice we're almost out. It's almost out! Yikes! We'll have to do a quick run to Family Dollar a mile down the road. I didn't want to go out today but find it worthwhile for the convenience of the dishwasher. I should have saved some cash back when I went to the bank yesterday...

I like to use Finish brand dishwashing detergent. It really does get the dishes so much cleaner than any other brand. We used to get tea stains in our plastic cups of which would not come out with other detergents. It does with Finish. We also do not have any stuck on particles as we did before. I suppose it is because Finish is made by the same company that makes JetDry, the rinsing agent you can add to your dishwasher.

8:15 I realize that I was in such a rush this morning that I haven't gotten changed yet. So much for morning routines! I went to get dressed for the day, complete with apron and headed toward my bathroom to put on my make-up and fix my hair. Gloria stops me and wants her flip-flops of which she left in the garden yesterday. I go get the flip-flops and get distracted with watering the garden. What a chore! I then make sure the chickens and dogs have water and feed the chickens. It's going to be a hot one today! I pick a few tomatoes and peas then finally head in. Whew!

It's 9:00 by now. I finally get my makeup and hair done and then decide to go to pick up the DW detergent. I didn't want to wear the outfit I had on out so I changed again. I go to Family Dollar and they did not have the detergent I needed so I go another mile or so down to Dollar General. They always have it. I pick up some bobby pins and light bulbs as well.

9:45 I finally make it back and begin laundry. I cannot find Gloria's shirts that she wears under her jumpers. Two black blouses and one yellow blouse are missing. I search the girls' room to no great gain.

James calls while I am doing laundry and tells me what he finds out about having a hernia surgery. He will have to have this very soon. We are trying to get our ducks in a row with this. We are praying for a program to come through that is at a local hospital. We may qualify due to our income level.  The lady says she'll call back after lunch after she finds out the details. This would be an answer to prayer! James and I chuckle at the thought of him recovery for about six weeks. It will be hard to keep him down but I told him that he needs to do it right the first time so it will all be over....

10:30 I cut up some tomatoes to puree in the food processor. I suppose I'll can this little bit after it cooks down a while on the stove. Tis the season for canning and I don't want to. Blah! I am sure once I am doing it, it will be fine.

Bethany and Gloria helped me put away folded laundry, Samuel sweept the diningroom floor and Jesse worked at cleaning out the bathroom. Brittany  made lunch.

Everyone has lunch and then some have computer time. I am tired by this time and ready to nap. It's Friday so we just might wait to swim this evening when it cools down a bit.

Wow! You made me tired just reading all that you did today. I also think the dishwasher is so worth it. With six of us here at home and usually two of us doing dishes it is worth it.

You are doing good with your weight loss. Sometimes you just hit some weeks where you don't lose much. Sometimes it helps to up your calories one day and then go back down the next.

I hope that you have a great weekend with your family.

Wow, Susan, you had quite a day! You must have been exhausted by night. It seems the heat really tires one out. My husband had a hernia operation some years ago. Hoping your insurance part works out well. Nancy

Susan,
You had a busy day.
My favorite thing to use for stains is called M30. I buy it at Family Dollar and it works GREAT!!
I'm sorry James is needing surgery. Will he not be able to work for 6 weeks? Sure am praying for him.
You are doing just great with your weight loss. Of course, I think you look great just the way you are.
Love you my friend,
Cathy

Congratulations on the weight loss. That is so much better than gaining. Your day was certainly busy. I hope all goes well with the surgery and the recovery. Enjoy your day and God bless.
