My September Challenge

In September, I thought it would be nice to share my challenge with you. I try to keep our daily food consumption at around $15 a day. Sometimes we are under and less times we are over. Just so long as the average is $15 or under. If we have enough built up at the end of the month we will go out for a meal or at least have ice cream cones for a treat. :D  This comes up to $450 per month for food items. I am adding up all non-food household items separately. I am thinking this would be, oh, under $50. This is for a family of 9, with children ages 3(4 in 2 weeks), 6, 8, 10, 13, 15, 18. . I'm excited!

I hope to report in every day or so but depending on how life dictates, it may have to be weekly. Anyone who wants to, can join in. I'd love to see how you all do. So let's see how we do, shall we?

Great plan Susan! Have you ever read The Prudent Homemaker? She started a blog in June and put updates similar to this....Though I think they have 6 kids?????? Anyhow, she has a goal of .40 per person. It's really, really inspiring and might give you some ideas too. Look forward to the updates!
