Happy Saturday!

Here we are again, on Saturday! First, I want to thank you so much for your prayers for my cold to get better. It made me feel like I was dragging and finally knocked me off my feet for a little while. Then I had the opportunity to sleep 13 hours within a 24 hour span. Wow.

As for now, my mom has finished her treatments. She will have doctor's visits and I am sure testing to see where she is at as far as the cancer clearing up. We do know that she's made progress but we don't know how much. We also know that she's been told that it's typical to need additional treatments but that she does need a break for now. Her neck cannot take any more beating from the radiation. Her white blood cells cannot take anymore beating from the chemo either.

She has been smoke free for four weeks, tomorrow! My dad's four weeks will be here on Tuesday. It's amazing how things work. She normally has high blood pressure--has had since her twenties. The day after she quit smoking her blood pressure is completely normal! The. day. after. Yep. Funny, as on Friday it was around 2:00 when she was getting her blood pressure checked in the chemo lab and she discovered that she had forgotten to put a nicotin patch on. Ha! Isn't that hil-ar-i-ous? I told her that she may not need them as much as she thinks she does. Oh, and then she proceeds to tell me that she doesn't know if she wants ------
to bring her as ------ smokes and she would then smell like cigarettes. I about rolled laughing on that one. It's all good.

So we get a little break from this story in our lives. Now, it's time for the me to turn the switch over to more schooling. Boy, I've missed so much with the children and school. Oh, I know we'll accomplish the goals I have but the time is lost.

Today I've been scratching on paper some pressing goals for the next coming weeks. I try not to be so burdened and at times so panicked. I do try to not think that I've failed. Yes....it'll all round out in the end with God's help.

Oh Susan! I completely understand your feelings but NO, you haven't failed and the time was NOt lost. You were simply educating your children in a different way....LIFE na The love of our God. The example you set before them by caring for your mom and being there for her are lessons we cannot get from textbooks! I'm so glad you are feeling better. Have a GREAT week.
