Budget Sharing Again, Yes?

I am really excited because I got to go with a friend to Sam's Club and stock up on some cheese and other goodies. We also went to the bread store. In the spirit of keeping our budget low, I was also writing down meals that we could possibly have from what we have in stock. I began re-evaluating our $12 a day budget. While we could make this work with a lot of effort, I would not find this very enjoyable. Also, I wanted to include more vegetable and fruits into our diet. So, I have bumped our budget up to $14 per day, average. I have a calendar to write our what we eat and how much it costs for every meal.

Fifteen dollars per day comes out to $420 per month. I am keeping this just as food. Here is the breakdown as a whole with the total cost at the end of the month:

Meals and snacks $420
spices/mixes            $20
Beverages               $60
Nonfood                 $50

Total for the month: $550

So, here we go again! I want to start this tomorrow, just to get in the habit before March. So I may post this here as well.

Well, I had a longer post, then poof....it was gone! I'm anxious to see how this goes for ya'll as bigger families are always a great source of ideas for us :D We are keeping tabs on our menu foods not the total daily. I think I got that idea from 1 of your Youtube videos. It seems to be working. We are moving to Kentucky In June so our focus now is to use up the stuff we've got, not so much stocking up anymore. Keeping our menu choice prices down will help us on the other side of this move. Happy planning Susan!
