Garden Progress 11'

We are getting quite a bit of squash now. We are so thankful as last year's crop didn't do go great. I had the wonderful garden itchies when picking this morning. Call me a bit sadistic but I love most summer discomforts like being itchy from a garden or hot. Funny, I'll be saying, "Wow, isn't it hot out here? I can hardly breathe because of the humidity. Isn't this WONDERFUL?" LOL

Anyway, so we have squash and we should be picking the beginning of our beans sometime this coming week. We have "baby tomatoes" and blooms on our cucumbers. I planted some more tomato, pepper and cucumber seed this morning. So we should have plenty to go throughout the whole season. Hubby says the peas will be blooming soon too. Our watermelon vines are growing well along with our okra plants. The corn's growing but not as plentiful as we'd like. I am about to pull up our spring onions. Then we can till that under and put something in it's place too...maybe we'll put more corn there if it's not going to be too hot then for corn... dunno.

I enjoy going out a few times a day and work here and there. The real work will come when the picking and canning begins. I am sort of dreading that part but it will be nice to have those jars later. Some late evenings hubby and I like to sit in the quiet and hear the lids pop as the canning jars are sealing... I guess that's a sound of progress.

Wow! You are so far ahead of us. We have only had some spinach, radishes, and asparagus. Our beans are just popping out of the ground.

Have a great day and enjoy all the fresh vegetables.
